We also help you know what to expect, and learn how life changes after the baby is born. The cost is only $20 for those families delivering at AMH. holding their monthly diabetes class
on Thursday, September 20 from 8 a.m. to
3:00 p.m. at AMH.
Classes will focus on carbohydrate counting and dietary management, foot and skin care, exercise, the emotional aspect of having diabetes, self-monitoring blood glucose meters, and how often to check glucose levels, lifestyle hints to help control blood sugar, how specific drug classes
prescribed for diabetes work, drug side effects, and drug interactions.

Wednesday, September 12, 2018Nail Clinic and Foot Screens5-6 p.m.Geneva Room A free foot screenings will be provided by Dr. Michael Worpell of the Northeast Indiana Foot and Ankle Clinic on Wednesday, September 12 from 5-6 p.m.. Also, Dr. Worpell will have a Nail Clinic that offers nail care/trimming for seniors or others needing such assistance. The Nail Clinic has a charge of $25 (cash/check only).

Tuesday, September 11Diabetes Support Group11:00 A.M. - NoonBerne Classroom AMH is offering a quarterly Diabetes Support Group with the next session being Tuesday, September 11 from 11 a.m. to noon.
Gain control over diabetes by learning how to reduce stress, anxiety, and fatigue. Receive practical suggestions about treatment options and new recipes. There is no cost or registration required for the group meeting.

In Effect Now!Weekend StatCare Hours9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.StatCare The weekend hours of care at StatCare are 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. The hours will allow patients to be seen earlier in the day and allow more time for patients to get to their pharmacy before closing if needed.

Tuesday, September 18League of the Blind and Disabled1:15-2:30 p.m.Geneva Room - AMH A support group for the blind will be held on the third Tuesday of each month from 1:15-2:30 p.m. at the Adams Memorial Hospital in the Geneva Room.
The next meeting will be on Tuesday, September 18. Come and learn about resources available and to find support.

Monday-FridayMammography ScreeningRegular Radiology HoursAMH Radiology DepartmentAMH has received a renewal for its grant from the Indiana Breast Cancer Awareness Trust (IBCAT) to provide free screening and diagnostic mammograms to women in this area who meet financial criteria. Diagnostic readings by the Summit Radiology physician group also included. Call AMH Central Scheduling at 724-2145, ext. 11047 for an appointment if you qualify.

Saturday, September 8Catch Your Breath 5K, 1 Mile Fun Run8 a.m. -- packet pick-up, 8:30 a.m.--1 Mile Ru, 9:00--5K RunAMH--at trail head of the River Greenway
A one-mile fun run at 8:30 a.m. followed by a 5K race at 9 a.m. will be held on Saturday, September 8. People may pick up packets for the event at 8:30 a.m. that day and should meet across from the hospital at the trail head of the River Greenway. Entry fee is $25. Thursday, October 26 Kid's Health Fair3:30-7 p.m.Berne Classroom--AMH Area kids are encouraged to participate in the annual AMH Kid's Health Fair on Thursday, October 26 being held in the Berne Classroom from 3:30-7 p.m.
Kids may receive a flu shot at a cost of $32 and also Trick or Treat at various stations throughout the hospital and may dress up in Halloween attire. Adult flu shots also available for $32.

Wednesday, October 24Skin Cancer Screening Day8 a.m. - noon, 1 p.m.-4 p.m.Suite B, Physician's Office Building A free public skin cancer screening day has been scheduled for Wednesday, October 24 by AMH and Fort Wayne Dermatology. Nurse practitioner Laura Baker (of FWD) will be performing the screenings in her office (suite B of the Physician's Office Building on High Street).
Appointments are required. Currently all appointment times are filled but we are still accepting names in case of cancellations. Call ext. 11068 for more information.
