We also help you know what to expect, and learn how life changes after the baby is born. The cost is only $20 for those families delivering at AMH. holding their monthly diabetes class
on Tuesday, March 13 from 8 a.m. to
2:30 p.m. in the Geneva Room at AMH.
Classes will focus on carbohydrate
counting and dietary management,
foot and skin care, exercise, the
emotional aspect of having diabetes,
self-monitoring blood glucose meters,
and how often to check glucose levels,
lifestyle hints to help control blood
sugar, how specific drug classes
prescribed for diabetes work, drug
side effects, and drug interactions.

Wednesday, March 28, 2018Nail Clinic and Foot Screens5:30-6:30 p.m.Geneva Room A free foot screenings will be provided by Dr. Michael Worpell of the Northeast Indiana Foot and Ankle Clinic on Wednesday, March 28. Also, a new service from Dr. Worpell is a Nail Clinic that offers nail care/trimming for seniors or others needing such assistance. The Nail Clinic has a charge of $25 (cash/check only).

Tuesday, March 6, 2018Diabetes Support Group11 a.m. - noonBerne Classroom AMH is offering a Diabetes Support Group on Tuesday, March 6 from 11 a.m. to noon.
Gain control over diabetes by learning how to reduce stress, anxiety, and fatigue. Receive practical suggestions about treatment options and new recipes. There is no cost or registration required for the group meeting.

Friday, April 13Red Cross Bloodmobile Drive10 a.m. - 4 p.m.Decatur & Monroe Classrooms The American Red Cross will be conducting a drive on 4-13-18 for blood donors. If you wish to donate, please call 724-2145, ext. 11050 to schedule an appointment. Walk-ins also accepted.

Starting April, 2018New Weekend Hours--StatcareStatcare Starting in April of 2018, the weekend hours of care at Statcare will be changing to 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. The new hours will allow patients to be seen earlier in the day and allow more time for patients to get to their pharmacy before closing if needed.

ImmediatelyBreast Cancer Awareness GrantAMH Radiology The Adams Memorial Hospital has received a grant from the Indiana Breast Cancer Awareness Trust (IBCAT) to provide free screening and diagnostic mammograms to women in this area who meet financial criteria.
Women who qualify may receive the free services at the AMH Radiology Department along with a diagnostic reading by Summit Radiology. Women should call the AMH Central Scheduling Department at 724-2145, ext. 11047 to see if they qualify or to schedule an appointment.

Third Tuesday of each MonthLeague of the Blind and Disabled1:15-2:30 p.m.Geneva Room - AMH A new support group for the blind will be held on the third Tuesday of each month from 1:15-2:30 p.m. at the Adams Memorial Hospital in the Geneva Room.
The first meeting will be on Tuesday, March 20. Come and learn about resources available and to find support.

Starting April 12New Diabetes Prevention ProgramDay: 11:30-12:30, Night: 4:30-5:30 Strickler Oncology Library Come join our new Diabetes Prevention Program and make a change in your life by giving yourself the gift of knowing you prevented diabetes!
This program is for people who have pre-diabetes and will include 22 one-hour sessions. The first class begins on Thursday, April 12 in the Strickler Oncology Institute Library. Day sessions will be from 11:30-12:30 while a separate evening meeting will be from 4:30-5:30.
To register, call Lisa McAfee, RN, diabetes educator and DDP Lifecoach at 724-2145, ext. 11107. Participants must register to attend by April 5.
