Scott Smith, M.D., MBA, started at Adams in 1998 as a family medicine resident moonlighting in the Emergency Department. Upon completion of his residency with the Fort Wayne Medical Education Program in 2000, Dr. Smith became a full-time Adams Emergency Department physician. He served in various leadership roles before becoming Chief Executive Officer and Medical Director of Adams Health Network in January 2020.

Dr. Smith grew up in northeast Indiana and graduated from Angola High School. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Houston and earned his medical degree at Baylor College of Medicine. In the spring of 2020, he graduated from the IU Kelley School of Business Physician MBA Program.

Dane Wheeler, CPA, CFE, FACHE, HFA, started as CFO at Adams in 2009. Before that, Dane was a health care partner with the CPA firm Clifton Gunderson in Indianapolis. In 2016, Dane obtained his Nursing Home Administrator’s license and currently serves as the Director of Senior Living Services for Adams Health Network in addition to his responsibilities as CFO.

Dane is a native of Whitley County and a graduate of Columbia City High School. He earned his undergraduate degree in accounting from Hillsdale College and an MBA from the University of Indianapolis. He is also a certified public accountant and a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.

Chris Butler, MHA, BSN, RN, FACHE  joined the Adams community as Chief Nursing Officer in August 2020. Prior to that, she worked in surgical services coordination at Lutheran Hospital and served as administrator and clinical director of Inverness Surgery Center in Fort Wayne. Most recently, Chris was the executive director of clinical operations for Dupont Hospital.

Chris grew up in northeastern Pennsylvania. She began her nursing training at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA before earning her bachelor’s degree in nursing at the University of Scranton. She also has a Master of Health Administration from the University of Phoenix.

Jen Helt, RN, BSN, joined the Adams Health Network as the Assistant Chief Nursing Officer in April 2022. Prior to that, she was an emergency room travel nurse and served as the director of nursing and facility administrator at CLI Surgery Center in Fort Wayne Indiana.  Most recently, Jen managed the emergency room at Dupont Hospital.

Jen has been a lifetime resident of northwest Ohio and graduated from Crestview High School in Convoy.  She began her nursing training at Northwest State Community College in Van Wert, Ohio before earning her bachelor’s degree in nursing at Indiana Wesleyan University.

Adam Miller, J.D., began representing Adams and its Board of Trustees in 1999. He now serves as Adams Health Network’s full time in-house legal counsel. Adam grew up in Adams County and graduated from Adams Central Community Schools. He completed his undergraduate studies at St. Francis College (now University of St. Francis) in Fort Wayne in 1985 and earned his juris doctorate degree at Ohio Northern University School of Law in 1988.

Kyle Sprunger has been with the Adams Health Network since October 2012 serving in various positions on the Finance team. Kyle started out as an intern and now serves in his role of Assistant Chief Financial Officer overseeing the financial and supply chain operations of the Network. Kyle is a lifelong resident of Adams County. After graduating from South Adams High School, he obtained his undergraduate degree from Indiana University at Fort Wayne and his MBA from the University of Saint Francis. Kyle is a certified public accountant (CPA) and is a member of the Indiana CPA Society and the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA).

Elizabeth Fisher started her career with Adams Health Network in 2004 as a Certified Clinical Laboratory Scientist. She has held several positions during her career including Point of Care Lead, Certified Infection Preventionist, and Manager of Corporate Medical Services and Statcare. As the Director of Clinical Services, Elizabeth leads several outpatient departments including Laboratory, Radiology, Cardiopulmonary, Statcare, Corporate Medical Services, Infection Prevention and Employee Health. Prior to joining the Adams team, Elizabeth was the Quality Control Supervisor for Central Soya (currently Bunge). Elizabeth is a lifelong resident of Adams County where she resides in the city of Monroe with her husband, Scott and their four children. After graduation from Adams Central Community School, Elizabeth obtained her bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology from Manchester College (now Manchester University). In the Spring of 2019, Elizabeth earned her Master of Business Administration from Western Governors University.

Tiffany Williams, MBA, joined Adams Health Network as Chief Human Resources Officer in 2023. She has 15 years of healthcare experience in diverse leadership roles. Her most recent experience was serving as Vice President of Human Resources at Van Wert Health.

Tiffany holds a bachelor’s degree from The Ohio State University and MBA with an emphasis in Healthcare Administration from the University of Findlay. She is also certified in Lean methodologies, a Just Culture champion, and a certified Achieve Global leadership trainer. Tiffany lives with her husband and children in Kalida, Ohio.
